Crochet Cherries
When I made the cherry tomato pattern for my crochet salad I knew I just had to make crochet cherries! I’d already figured out how to make the cherry part which meant I only had to figure out the leaf. Now thank goodness for the ability to unravel yarn and start over because I made some seriously ugly leaves on my quest to make the perfect cherry leaf 🙂
I hope you have as much fun with this crochet cherries pattern as I did.

Crochet Cherries Pattern
You need an H crochet hook and red & green yarn.
To make the cherry:
With red yarn: Chain 3, join loop with a slip stitch.
Chain 2, work 4 DC in each of the 3 spaces, join with a slip stitch to the beginning (12 total DC)
Chain 1, work 1 SC in each space all the way around, join with a slip stitch (12 total SC)
Chain 1, (skip 1 space, SC 1) repeat until the hole is small enough to close up with a slip stitch. If you do too many it will kind of bubble out at the end.
Cut thread, tie off, and hid inside the cherry.
Repeat these steps until you have 3 cherries.
For the leaf:
With green yarn: Chain 2, go back to the 1st chain you made and work 2 DC in it.
Chain 2, work 2 DC in each space (4 total DC)
Chain 2, turn project, wrap the yarn around the hook, skip the first space and go into the next space. Grab some yarn and pull it through. At this point you have 3 loops on the hook. Wrap around and go through 2 of those loops. Wrap around and skip the next space and go into the last space, grab some thread and pull it through, at this point you’ll have 4 loops on the hook. Wrap the yarn around and go through 2 of the loops. Wrap the yarn around and go through all 3 loops. This completes the leaf.
Now, to connect the leaf to the cherry:
Ch 7 and join to cherry with a slip stitch tie off, cut and hide thread.
Join the thread to the same area you connected the last cherry and repeat the “Ch 7 and join to cherry with a slip stitch tie off, cut and hide thread.” 2 more times.
Hide all of the green threads inside the main body of the leaf.
