The Birth of Modern Homemakers

Hello and welcome to our little space carved out in the blogosphere. We’re three super close sisters with three totally different takes on family. Two sisters by birth and one by marriage together we have a whole mess of kids, husbands and pets that we talk about on the phone to each other EVERY DAY.

So, I being the eldest and the wisest of the bunch (you’ll catch on quick that I’m the snarky one) decided one day that we should write down all these conversations. All of the… recipes, cleaning tricks, parenting advice, cheap dates, secret confessions… all of it. After MANY three way phone conversations disagreeing about “the look” of the site with our three VERY different tastes “Modern Homemakers” was born.

I like to think of this as a journal that wraps up all those memories good and bad to be looked back on someday when our kids are grown and we finally have some time to ourselves. Who knows, maybe even our kids will get some use out of these postings when they have families of their own. Or they’ll be horrifically embarrassed about all of the little silly things we said because we love that about them and couldn’t help but share it with the world.

For some added spice to the blog we thought we’d throw in a dash of “Mom” (ours that is). She’s always lecturing us about being healthy and taking better care of ourselves because “hey, isn’t that what mom’s are supposed to do?” Oh, and she just happens to be the health and fitness expert so she really does know her stuff.
