DIY Coat Closet

We moved several months ago and launched immediately into a kitchen remodel. So, a lot of time wasn’t spent on organization or unpacking for that matter. So needless to say some areas got a little chaotic, like the front door entry coat closet. It’s not a big space to begin with, so everyone just throwing their junk on the floor really wasn’t working for me.

So I started planning, and managed to sweet talk my husband into helping make this space a happy oasis. I’m sure it could have been a 1-2 day project for anyone else, but for us it took three days. I blame homeschooling 3 kids and a toddler getting into everything, but it could also be the fact that paint actually does need a little time to dry 🙂

We did this on a tight budget with Dollar Tree baskets and scrap lumber and I just love how it turned out. If you don’t have a scary shed full of random bits of lumber that will definitely add to the cost, so bear that in mind!

Good luck with your cleaning and organizing endeavors. I’ve got three months before the new baby comes and with any luck I’ll have the whole house done before then! (I know it’s unrealistic… but sometimes living in denial makes me feel better haha!) What projects are you tackling right now? Leave a comment, I’d love to hear what you’re working on 🙂
