Today I’m gonna show you how to make your own pumpkin apple baby food. And we’re not going to steam our own pumpkins and puree them because this is a really fast recipe. We’re just gonna use jarred applesauce and canned pumpkin. Modern Homemakers Intro and Theme song.

Alright this is the fastest baby food you can possible make. So it’s not even really cooking we’re just going to stir. We’re going to take a can of pumpkin. Make sure it’s not pumpkin pie filling because that’s full of sugar. This is just canned pumpkin. I don’t even have to get everything out because I’m going to dump into the same can so I don’t have to mess up a measuring cup. I’ve got this one that’s almost empty so we’re going to measure applesauce. And with you applesauce you want to make sure, it’s ok if you can’t afford organic, although that’s the best, I can’t either right now, but you want to make sure that it’s just apples. A lot of applesauce has corn syrup in it

So I think this is motts, I had a jar that was almost empty and it was just apples and I think I had a walmart brand like a store brand that was just apples but it’s surprising how many of them are just laced with corn syrup. So, watch out for that. Gonna finish filling up this can. If you’re making your own purées and your own applesauce one can is about 2 cups.

And then we’re just gonna mix it. I like to use a whisk, you don’t have to use a whisk you can use a spoon. It makes it really fast to get it blended together. So there you go it’s a 1 to 1 ratio of fruit and veggies being mixed up in here. And I just got these in the mail and if you want me to be your spokes person I totally will just give me some more! Anyway, these are awesome they’re called Ufill packs and it’s like those reusable food pouches in the store for babies, but it’s like a ziplock on the end. So you could take this baby food and you could put it in old baby food jars or little canning jars or you can get these pouches and then the baby feeds themselves. What you’re going to do with these is we’re going to fill this up you can see from the inside this lettering and we’re going to fill up to the bottom or the middle of that. Play around with it you’ll get used to it.

If you fill the pouch to full it kind of squishes out. It’s not the end of the world, right there I think I went a little too far, we’ll see! I may have made it, and I like to have a wet rag kind of like when you’re canning how you want to wipe off the rim. Anyway, it’s that fast. This recipe makes about 8 pouches worth and I’ll go grab a baby so you can see how much he loves this and it’s super easy.

And then you can kind of torment them by showing them, ok maybe that’s mean. Here you go! Yay! So there I spent less than 2 dollars between my pumpkin and the applesauce and each of these pouches if you bought them in the store is going to be a couple dollars anyway made back my money in just a few seconds you can see how fast that was. And what do you think Gideon? What do you think is that Yummy? Yeah, he’s guzzling that down. It’s a happy boy. Baby laughs. Please subscribe to our youtube channel.
